Dun Flodigarry is an independent, family-run hostel set in a magnificent location on the beautiful Trotternish Peninsula, the northernmost part of the Isle of Skye.
The hostel is set by the sea and has wonderful views across to Flodigarry Island, Gairloch and the Torridon mountains on the mainland. Flodigarry was once the home of the Jacobite heroine Flora MacDonald, and the area is famous for the distinctive cliffs and rock formations of the Quiraing which towers above the hostel. Hiking trails are accessible directly from the door. Boat trips, sea kayaking and pony trekking are all available in the area.
When you are out and about you may see, amongst other wildlife, otters, basking sharks, whales and both golden and white-tailed eagles. There are also many orchids and other rare flora in the area.
The hostel is centrally heated and fully equipped with all bedding and sheets provided. There is a spacious kitchen dining room and a seperate sitting room, together with laundry and drying rooms. For those who don't want to cook, there is a hotel with bar and restaurant just 100 metres from the door.
The hostel has private rooms as well as beds in dorms, and also welcomes groups. There is a camping area in the grounds, and the Flodigarry Country House Hotel is just next door.
